Get The Need

EA’s next Need for Speed title, Need for Speed: Shift will be available to play at various GAME stores around the UK over the next few weeks.

If you’re fast enough, you’ll go through to the grand final at Thorpe Park, Surrey, on September 26th with winner getting a brand new Nissan 350Z GT sports car.

A similar competition was held at E3 2009 back in June, with the winner receiving a BMW M3.

GamesCom 2009 News

GamesCom 2009 took place last week and it featured a plethora of games that are forthcoming over the next 12-18 months.

The talking points from the event featured the first footage from the likes of Guild Wars 2, Fable IIISilent Hunter 5 and Napoleon: Total War.

There was also a glimpse at the forthcoming movie-based title from Ubisoft, James Cameron’s Avatar.

Pay The Price

In a revolutionary move, Eidos Interactive has announced it will offer a downloadable edition of Championship Manager 2010 on a Pay What You Want price model.

This means that until the 10th of September 2009, all players will need to pay is a £2.50 transaction fee, plus any additional amount of their choice, starting from just a single penny.

Accompanying this announcement is a special Championship Manager 2010 Press Conference Video.

Let The Games Begin

GamesCom, 2009’s biggest European games trade show, takes place in Germany this week.

All the big publishers will be there to show off their upcoming titles, as well as to provide a few surprises.

Cologne is the city where it will all be happening, moving from the previous GC destination of Leipzig.

M Festival 2009

GameShadow was in attendance at the recent M Festival 2009, held in Warwickshire, UK.

The likes of Guitar Hero: World Tour, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Street Fighter IV were on show and available to sample.

Section 8, the 2009 TimeGate shooter was also on show for PC and XBOX 360 players.

Map Pack 3 Launch Trailer

Call of Duty: World at War’s Map Pack 3 is just hours away from hitting Xbox Live and PSN, and to whet your appetite Treyarch has released this launch trailer.

PC gamers will have to wait a short while for Map Pack 3 which is expected to be released with the next PC update.

Eidos Double Demo On The Way

Eidos Interactive has announced that two of its biggest titles this year will be getting demos before their respective full releases.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum demo will be released this Friday morning.

Championship Manager 2010 will follow a week later on Friday August 14th.

Both demos will be available on GameShadow.

First Sims 3 Expansion

Electronic Arts has revealed the first expansion pack for The Sims 3.

The Sims 3: World Adventures will see players take their Sims on adventures to famous destinations around the world.

It will be released during the week beginning November 16th.
