All-Conquering Codemasters

Codemasters has revealed it will be bringing sequels to three of its major releases from this year.
2010 will see follow-ups to DIRT 2, Ashes Cricket 2009 and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
All three titles enjoyed major sales success and flourished at a time when other publishers decided to push their titles into the first and second quarters of 2010.

They oughta concentrate on fixing their other games before bringing out sequels… OFPDR is an utter farce that cost money MP is broken totally.

A sequel to OPFDR, your kidding. OPFDR MP is so totally broken it’s not even funny and the SP is short and rather dull. AI is laughable and vehicle physics is just stupid. Check youtube for video laughs.

I hope this is incorrect.
If it isn’t, the CM are now officially my most hated game developer. They disgraced the name of OFP, and are now going to make another cash-in sequel for 2010? L4D2 is not a game people should be boycotting, but DR2 is!

Codemasters should be ashamed of themselves for producing such a totally over-hyped and utterly disgraceful attempt at continuing the legendary Flashpoint name. Instead of producing another farce, they ought to be going right back to the drawing board and totally re-writing DR. Thankfully, the true OFP writers (BIS) have continued with the soul of the game.
Shame on you Codemasters.

Code Masters should re-name to Con Masters !!!
Trust the public when they say DR2 will be boycotted to make CM will fail if they don’t finish what we have all had to pay for!!!!!

OFP was hyped up beyond belief – They said we would be able to do loads of things that we cannot – A free roam tactical game was what they said – No free roam and very little tactics……… Rubbish game

I don’t think this article holds any creditability, with such farce rumours! How can a games development company be releasing sequels in such a short period of time, unless they’ve got one of the largest amount of employees within the office working around the clock to even offer such nonsense, I think they will be downloadable content for all 3 titles next year and a sequels within the next 2-3years, so as they say don’t believe the hypeeeeeeeeee…….. Neeeeeeehhhhhhh

unreal how they misled the public about this game. Saying its open world etc. a lot of people are angry.

Well, this is indeed good news and bad news. Dragon rising right now is awaiting a patch to make its multiplayer playable. I’d see it as a sign of them acknowledging all the bugs and problems in the first one and come out with a second game nice and polished. The bad news.. they probably aren’t going to be able to go as far as they wished with this flashpoint and hence the new game next year. So in the end the consoles will have a good solid realistic combat shooter, but for those of us who bought flashpoint dragon rising for the multiplayer right now…. eesh, we just better hope they can patch it up good enough until they can get the next game out.

All code masters have done is to rip off a loyal fan base. To say they are supposed to write racing sims as well , the vehicles in the game handle like they are on ice. The whole game is full of bugs. The AI is unintelligent. CM do not care now they have peoples money. A patch will not solve this rubbish.

flashpoint is legendary and codemasters has ruined it and can never change that, i wish Bistudios would have finished what they started instead of letting codemasters have it to ruin, i am getting rid of everything that codemasters has ever done, because they r not nothing but lairs and false advertise and make pc rendered videos that isnt even in the game
November 12th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Of course CM is going to put out a sequel. They think that their customers have short memories and will forget what a piece of garbage console port (for PC) that OFP DR is. And it will probably penalize the PC community as well. They want to only have to make games for console, it’s easier.
I won’t forget what a POS OFP DR was at release, and about the false advertising that CM resorted to so they could sell their game.
